MO learning is provided by UBM Medica Australia Pty Ltd (publisher of Medical Observer), which is an RACGP Endorsed Provider and is accredited with ACRRM's Professional Development Program.
To successfully finish each one-hour module, GP participants are required to firstly read the associated Update article, either in print in Medical Observer or the online HTML version, and then complete the online questionnaire and compulsory Activity Evaluation.
Each one-hour module consists of 30 minutes allocated to reading the Update article and 30 minutes completing the online questionnaire.
If participants make an error while completing the questionnaire, they will be prompted to try again until they achieve the correct answer.
Once participants select the correct answer, a full description of the answer will appear, reinforcing the key messages from the article.
The printed version of the Update provides an enduring copy to which participants can refer at a later date, for example for future assistance when managing a patient with that particular condition. Reading the Update article online will enable GPs to source reference articles, further reading, and additional patient educational material.
GP participants can print out a detailed record of their completions of MO learning activities at any time by clicking on the 'Activity History' button on the left hand navigation menu within the website.
